Glides in the pale moonlight,
Flies in the air high as the stars.
Glittering wings waving in the cool wind
As beautiful as a rainbow.
Dances in the pale white snow.

Fireworks

Looks like colourful sprinkles that glow in the sky.
Sounds like bombs exploding in the sky.
Tastes like smoke.
Smells like roasted toast on a stick.

I am like a snake because I am calm. I am calm because I need lots of sleep. I am also like a snake because I am wise. I am wise because I know 3 x 3 in two seconds! I am strong like a snake because I can lift up my brother and he is 19 kilos.

Have you ever seen a leaf?
Juicy green, pretty fresh, little hairy.
Glorious.

The storm sounded like somebody drumming on
the roof with a hammer.
The storm looked like fat trees cracking when they rip.
The storm felt like raindrops blowing away in
the far distance.

Autumn feels like windy cold nights when I pull my covers over my head.
Autumn feels like oozy mud under my dirty feet.
In Autumn I play with the spiky leaves.
In the mornings I have frost in the garden.
Autumn leaves looks like colourful snow on the ground.
Autumn sounds like crunchy prickly leaves under my feet.

Term 1

My favourite thing this term was buddy time because we could play with Ruby, my buddy. My buddy is really nice and she makes me feel happy. Sometimes Ruby played with me. We played tag with Josephine and we played hot potato. I hope I get the same buddy next term.

On exciting Tuesday Matua Elmars came and showed our class a spider. He told us it was a Huntsman spider. It looked like it was skinny. Frankie wanted to hold it, she wasn’t scared.

Granny Lima's Bedtime Story

We are learning to retell a story March 2008

Once upon a time there lived a princess who had everything that she needed. But the princess was still unhappy because she was not allowed to go out of the kingdom. So the princess hopped on her horse and rode to the gate. But in the garden out stomped an ogre from behind the rocks and said “STOP! You can’t leave the kingdom.” And then he ran off to his hiding place. Then the princess went in some bushes and hid in them until the sun set. Then she popped her head out of the bushes and heard the ogre say “Oh, I lost my son forever.” So the next day the princess said “I’m a magic princess and I can give you everything that you want.” “Okay, you have two days.” She got the prince and they got married and they lived happily ever after.
