Granny Lima's Bedtime Story

We are learning to retell a story March 2008

Once upon a time there was a princess, queen and a king. Although the princess had everything she needed she was very unhappy. “Why can’t I leave the kingdom?” she asked her mother. “Because an ogre guards by the rock gates.” The princess wanted to leave the kingdom so much that she got on her horse and rode out to the gates. She was just going to ride through the gates thinking she was so clever when the yucky, stinky, purple ogre jumped out and yelled “NO!!!!! You can not leave the kingdom.” “But I’m a magic princess,” she said. “I will grant you any wish you want,” said the princess. “But I don’t have a wish I want.” The princess did not agree and she did not even go back to the kingdom. She rode her horse into a big bush and waited until she saw the ogre look at a picture of a handsome prince. “Oh my prince, he is lost forever.” The princess turned and rode back to the kingdom. In the morning she went back to the ogre and said “I know what your secret is, give me two days,” and she rode off. She found the prince and they got married a few days later. They lived happily ever after. THE END.
